How to get to Tamraght?
Before everything, you must get there. The easiest way is to reach Agadir. Then, go to the central taxi station and hop on a collective taxi towards Taghazout. Wait until full, and you will be on the right track.
The ride costs around 15-20 MAD, the cheapest way to reach Tamraght. Don’t forget to yell at the driver for him to drop you at the desired location or ask him beforehand.
Coming from the opposite direction, collective taxis are also available in Imsouane or Taghazout at different prices. Overall, the most important thing is to know how to travel in Morocco by taxi to avoid losing money and time.

When is the best time to visit Tamraght?
It depends on what you are looking for, but almost all year long it is ideal to visit Tamraght. Although the temperature might be colder from November to March, this is also when the waves are ideal for experienced surfers.
But, if you are not especially blond with a surfboard underarm, the months from April to June and September to November are perfect. You avoid the summer crowds, and due to the ocean’s proximity, the temperatures never go super high.

A Local Guide to Tamraght
Where to stay in Tamraght
One of the reasons for my love for Tamraght was definitely the place I stayed at. For 10 days, I slept at Agachill, a fabulous small hostel run by two local brothers. The beds are comfy, the bathroom and common kitchen clean, the terrasse awesome to chill with a breathtaking Atlantic view for daily sunsets, and the staff amazing.
The price-quality ratio is more than acceptable, around 10 euros per night in June, and a friendly atmosphere constantly floats around, making you quickly feel at ease. But, the cherry on the top is the family behind the structure.
They are eager to share local tips and activities you can do around the village, cook mouth-watering dinners, lunch, and breakfast for extra payment, and will welcome you like no one. Definitely a good choice and one of the best Slow Travel hostels in Morocco.

Where to eat local in Tamraght
There are a few local places where you can eat in Tamraght, even though I have seen more and more tourist-oriented shops popping around. Chez Mimoum is my go-to move whenever I am hungry. They serve huge portions of simple but delicious traditional Moroccan food.
Then, I also like to stop at Fish & Chip’s or Subway Fish for a 10 MAD sardine sandwich which is excellent. Tifawine is also a nice stop for a snack or mint tea.
If you are craving a pizza, the absolute best place to go is called U Wood Love and after a stop there, you will thank me.

Get to learn about its inhabitants
What makes Tamraght so special are undoubtedly its inhabitants. I have learned a lot from them, whether about Morocco’s history, politics, or just the world.
One of the best examples besides the hotel’s family is a young man called Abdelsamad, who runs a leather shoe shop. We had learned to get to know each other, and after a few days, I couldn’t pass by his shop, GoldenCuir, to admire his handmade pieces and chat around a boiling cup of mint tea.

Just Chill
Sometimes, the best way to discover and enjoy a place is to do absolutely nothing. Let things come to you by Finding a cosy spot by the beach or in the terrasse hammock.
Empty your minds, open your perspective and let the waves’ sounds and sun vanish your stress away as you truly rest.
